We are very particular about the quality of the food we prepare and serve. In just a few days time we will list here our main suppliers and describe how we try and ensure the very best ingredients are used and served at the Chequers Inn.
The Chequers Inn
The Chequers Inn prides itself in the quality and presentation of its food. With an emphasis on locally sourced produce, our very inventive chefs create dishes which are cooked to order from a small but perfectly balanced menu with an unusually comprehensive vegetarian choice always available.
Whilst the Chequers Inn is renowned for good food, it is not a gastro pub, nor does it pretend to be an up-market fine dining restaurant. The Chequers is primarily a pub with good food, much of which is traditional pub grub, maintaining many of the comfort foods for which rural pubs are renowned, but presented in a unique way.
Much of our produce comes from the immediate area, but our fish is delivered direct from Brixham, where the trawlers return to port in the early hours and the fish is delivered to us within twelve hours.
Our menu changes regularly to take advantage of seasonal availability of ingredients.
